The daughter of the portrait painter Louis Vigee, sister of the writer Etienne Vigee and the wife of the artist and merchant Jean-Baptiste Lebrun. At the age of fourteen, she was already a professional artist, and having matured, she entered the circle of the royal family. And she became the favorite artist of Queen Marie Antoinette, after the revolution she was forced to leave France. And in the late 1790s she worked in Russia. She left behind 660 portraits and about 200 landscapes.
